In a recent guest appearance on the popular daytime talk show where she once served as a co-host, television personality Star Jones made it clear that a permanent return to the roundtable is not in her plans. The visit, which occurred in late January, was a homecoming of sorts for the veteran broadcaster, but her professional focus remains firmly elsewhere.
Jones, who currently presides over the long-running series “Divorce Court,” cited an overwhelming workload as the primary reason she cannot commit to another daily talk show. “My schedule is completely full,” she explained, noting the program’s upcoming 28th season and a demanding annual production slate. She assumed her role as the show’s arbitrator in 2022.
Her brief return to the talk show stage served a specific and personal purpose: to champion heart health awareness at the start of American Heart Month. Jones, a passionate advocate, used the platform to share her own experience, revealing she was diagnosed with heart disease in the same month as her former colleague, the late Barbara Walters.
“That shared experience created a unique bond between us, a sisterhood that went beyond our professional relationship,” Jones reflected. She emphasized the show’s significance as a trusted space for women, making it an ideal venue to discuss a leading health issue for females.
Reflecting on her personal health journey, Jones offered straightforward advice rooted in her own lessons. “The formula is simple: consume less and be more active,” she stated. Acknowledging that the message can be challenging, she admitted that prior habits contributed to her condition. “I learned that I have to secure my own well-being first. It’s the fundamental principle of putting on your own oxygen mask,” she concluded, underscoring the importance of self-care.
