According to newly unsealed court documents, the late financier Jeffrey Epstein was reportedly the father of a secret child over a decade ago. The claim emerges from private email correspondence with Sarah Ferguson, the former Duchess of York.
In a 2011 message, Ferguson extended congratulations to Epstein, writing that she had heard he’d had a baby boy. She noted they had not been in recent contact but offered her “love, friendship, and congratulations.”
The email exchange also reveals a strained relationship between the two. In another communication, Ferguson expressed frustration, suggesting Epstein had only maintained their friendship to gain access to her former husband, Prince Andrew.
The documents further include informal and at times inappropriate remarks from Ferguson to Epstein. In one instance, she jokingly proposed marriage. In another, referencing her daughter Princess Eugenie, then a teenager, Ferguson made a crude comment about her returning from a weekend away.
Epstein, who died in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges, had a long-standing association with both Ferguson and Prince Andrew. That connection has had significant repercussions for the former couple, including the loss of their royal patronages and their residence at Royal Lodge in Windsor.
The release of these communications is part of a broader disclosure of documents related to the Epstein case.
