The family of a well-known television journalist is asking for the public’s assistance as they search for her mother, who was reported missing from her Arizona home.
The woman, a 77-year-old resident of the Catalina Foothills area, was last seen at her residence on the evening of January 31st. She was reported missing to the Pima County Sheriff’s Office the following day.
In a statement, the family expressed their gratitude for the outpouring of support. “Right now, our focus remains on the safe return of our dear mom,” the statement read. “We thank law enforcement for their hard work on this case and encourage anyone with information to come forward.”
Authorities have confirmed they are investigating the disappearance as a criminal matter. At a recent press conference, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos stated the case is being treated as such, though specific details surrounding the investigation have not been released.
The missing woman is described as having an exceptionally close relationship with her daughter, a co-anchor of a major morning news program. In past interviews, the journalist has frequently praised her mother’s character, calling her a “truth teller” and a model of integrity who encouraged her career from a young age.
The family has endured previous hardship, as the journalist’s father passed away from a sudden heart attack when she was a teenager. Following his death, she and her sister chose to live at home during college to support their mother.
The journalist is the youngest of three siblings. Her older sister is a published author, and her brother is a former military pilot.
After a previous marriage ended in divorce, the journalist remarried in 2014. She and her husband have two young children together. She has spoken openly in the past about her deep desire for a family and the pain of experiencing a miscarriage before the birth of her children.
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department is urging anyone with information related to this case to contact them at 520-351-4900.
