Freshly disclosed correspondence reveals that the Duke of York, Prince Andrew, made repeated requests to the late financier Jeffrey Epstein for the use of his luxury apartments in Paris and New York.
The emails, part of a recent document release by U.S. authorities, show the Duke asking Epstein in September 2009 if he could stay at his Paris residence for a private weekend, noting he was already booked into a hotel but would prefer the apartment. Epstein promptly agreed to the request.
Later that same year, in a message sent around the Thanksgiving holiday, the Duke again contacted Epstein, this time seeking permission to stay at the Paris apartment in early December. In a postscript to that communication, he also inquired on behalf of his former wife, Sarah Ferguson, asking if she could stay at Epstein’s New York home. Internal messages from Epstein indicate staff were instructed to prepare an apartment for her arrival.
These communications are among millions of pages of records related to Epstein made public last month. Epstein was convicted in 2008 on state prostitution charges and was serving a period of house arrest at the time of these 2009 requests.
