The family of Nancy Guthrie is appealing to the public for assistance as they continue their search for the missing Tucson woman. The 72-year-old was last seen on the evening of January 31st after being returned to her home by relatives following a dinner out.
Concern was raised the next morning, February 1st, when she did not appear for a scheduled church service, prompting a family member to contact authorities. The Pima County Sheriff’s Office has since launched an investigation.
In a heartfelt plea shared online, one of Nancy’s daughters, Annie Guthrie, described her mother as the family’s guiding light. “She is our beacon,” Guthrie stated, emphasizing the close-knit nature of the family. “We are her children, and we need her home.”
While another of Nancy’s daughters, Savannah Guthrie, is a well-known television journalist, the family residing in Arizona maintains a more private life. Annie Guthrie is an author and educator, known for her work in poetry and metalsmithing.
The family has a history of relying on one another through hardship, having previously navigated the loss of Nancy’s husband decades ago. Friends and community members have described the Guthries as dedicated and supportive of one another.
Authorities are asking anyone with information regarding Nancy Guthrie’s whereabouts to contact the Pima County Sheriff’s Office. She is described as a white female, approximately 5’5″ tall, with gray hair and blue eyes.
