British authorities are examining new claims that connect a disgraced former member of the Royal Family to the late financier Jeffrey Epstein. According to recent reports, an allegation has surfaced that a woman was brought to a royal residence in Windsor in 2010 for a sexual encounter.
The woman, who was in her twenties and is not a British national, reportedly spent the night at the property. Her legal representative in the United States has stated that she was later given a private tour of Buckingham Palace. In response to these reports, Thames Valley Police confirmed they are assessing the information as part of their standard procedures, though they note the allegations have not been formally reported to them by the woman or her lawyer.
The individual at the center of these claims has consistently denied any wrongdoing. His association with Epstein, who died in a Manhattan jail cell in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges, led to his removal from royal duties and titles. A palace statement at the time announced he would no longer use the style of ‘His Royal Highness’ and would be known privately as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. He has also been served notice to vacate his former home, Royal Lodge.
Further complicating the situation, newly released documents appear to show correspondence between Epstein and the former royal’s ex-wife. An email from 2009 references a planned visit by her and their two daughters, who were teenagers at the time. The context and nature of the overall relationship between the ex-wife and Epstein remain unclear.
The police have reiterated that they treat all reports of sexual offenses with the utmost seriousness and encourage anyone with information to come forward. The review of these latest claims continues.
