TUCSON, Ariz. — The family of a Tucson woman is urgently seeking public assistance after she vanished late last month under concerning circumstances.
Nancy Guthrie was last seen on the evening of January 31 after being returned to her residence by relatives following a dinner. When she did not appear for a scheduled church service the following morning, her family grew alarmed and contacted authorities to report her disappearance.
Her daughter, Annie Guthrie, has made a public appeal for information. In a recent online video, she described her mother as the family’s guiding light. “She is our mother, we are her children. She is our beacon,” Guthrie stated.
While one of Nancy Guthrie’s daughters is a well-known national television journalist, Annie Guthrie leads a more private life in Arizona. She is an author and an artist, recognized for her published poetry and her work as a metalsmith and instructor at a local university’s poetry center.
Authorities have indicated that Annie Guthrie was the last known person to see her mother before she went missing. The investigation is ongoing, with law enforcement following all leads.
The family has endured previous hardship, having lost their father decades ago, an event that reportedly strengthened their bonds. Friends of the family have described them as deeply committed to one another.
Anyone with information regarding Nancy Guthrie’s whereabouts is urged to contact local law enforcement.
